Department of Defense Mentor Protégé Program

In March of 2013, Radius was selected to participate in the Mentor Protégé Program as part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Small Business initiative. The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program assists small businesses (protégés) successfully compete for prime contract and subcontract awards by partnering with large companies (mentors) under individual, project-based agreements.

Radius’ mentor company is International Business Machines (IBM). This long-term relationship provides Radius with industry leading tools, processes, skills and technology which we leverage to support a wide variety of IT services requirements.

CMMI Level 3 Appraised

Radius successfully completed our Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 appraisal at the end of June 2013. This appraisal further affirms Radius’ application of a repeatable process improvement methodology to our services. Our methodology enhances the delivery of IT services and enables us to measure improvements efficiently.

Radius Receives Minerva Green Business Award

Radius was honored to receive the 2012 Minerva Entrepreneurship Award—Green Business Award on March 31, 2012, presented by Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter Fund, Inc. Radius received the award for excelling in community outreach. The company participates in many community programs including Adopt-a-Road and Shepherd’s Table. As part of the Adopt-a-Road program, Radius is responsible for the clean-up of Amherst Avenue from Arcola Avenue to University Blvd. Radius also provides volunteers and donations to Shepherd’s Table, which is a non-profit organization that provides meals, social services, medical support, clothing and other assistance to people who are homeless or in need. In addition, Radius is a Green Business, part of the Silver Spring Green, a nonprofit organization that brings together businesses, civic organizations, residents and government to enhance our environment.
